Just picture this:
You wake up in the morning. The Sun is shining, but it doesn’t matter to you. You only want to do one thing: roll to your other side and continue sleeping… but no. You can’t. You have to go shopping and then… what do you need to do then?
You sit up on your bed and start wondering.
Cook dinner, go for the kids, send that email you said you’d send two days ago, and… okay, I think that’s it.
You wake up from bed and start your day. While you’re drinking your coffee, you start wondering again. Okay, if I first do the shopping, and then send the email, then I can save time… Ohh, no, I can’t. Whatever, I’ll go shopping now.
While you’re shopping, you met up with your friend. You start talking for a while and the next thing you know is you totally forgot what you wanted to do after the shopping.
Okay, never mind, you go home. But what now?
Cook dinner? Cook dinner, yes! And then I can even send that email… And what else was? Ohh, I think that’s it.
And just like that, after dinner is ready and the email is sent, you sit back on your sofa proud of yourself… it was a long day, but at least you’re done. But are you?
This is the moment when it strikes you like a lightning… Your kids!
You start packing and rushing as fast as you can but you’re still late.
Huhh.
But let’s picture another scenario:
You wake up at the same time. The Sun is still shining, and it STILL doesn’t matter to you.
And this is where the big change happens: You do a to do list for what you have to do.
And thanks to this… your whole day is different. You don’t have to think about what you have to do anymore. You just start doing things. And you’re done waaay before than you’d be in the first scenario. And you even get to your kids in time.
Okay, I think right now, you get why you should use to do lists…
But still, let me show you every reason I could list, so I can really get you to use to do lists.. and better your life. :)
Why Would You Even Need To Do Lists?
They systemize your life
Once you’re done making them, you know what you need to do, and when you need to do those things. It makes your whole life easier. You’ll achieve more with less energy.
Less stress
And you’ll achieve more with less stress. Why? Because you won’t have to worry if you left something out, or if you won’t remember something important. It frees you up.
You can concentrate on what’s important
Again, instead of thinking about what you need to do… you can use your energy to DO what you need to do. It’s a really big change, trust me. And it even saves you time and energy in the short run and in the long run as well.
